Log time and approve it without spreadsheets

For any team that bills for delivery — or just wants to know where the hours went — time is data that usually leaks into spreadsheets and inboxes. PlanMagnet is built to capture it at source, on the same items the team already works.

A team member logs time against the task they worked on — ninety minutes here, an afternoon there — and the effort attaches to the work item so a task's real time-spent accrues automatically. There is no separate timesheet tool to reconcile against the tracker; the two are the same system.

At the end of a period, those entries roll into a timesheet the person submits. A program manager or operations lead then approves or rejects it, and the approval — who signed off, and when — is recorded on the timesheet rather than lost in a thread. Approval is a gated action with its own permission, so signing off is a deliberate, auditable step.

Because logged hours sit next to estimates, a delivery lead can finally see effort against plan — which work ran long, which is under-costed — without exporting anything. Approved periods lock, so the record stays trustworthy after the fact.

Illustrative scenario describing the time-tracking and timesheet-approval flow the platform is being built to deliver.

Illustrative planning guide

Capture real hours on the work itself, roll a period into a timesheet, and move it through submit and approve — so effort lives next to the task and sign-off is a recorded step, not an email.
